1. Why is texture so important to have in your sketches?
Texture is so important in this project because you want to be able to tell the difference in the background and the animal so its not like a blob. you want the sketch of you pattern to be very detailed in some areas and in other just a simple pattern will do.when we put this sketch into the linoleum  we will be cutting some parts out so it has detail to it and when we put ink on our linoleum and make it into a stamp you will be able to see what the animal is and its background.
2. Why is it neccessary for you to have several references of each animal and each background? Explain.
Because this project takes alot of planing and is something that you have to put alot of  thought into befor doing. In some parts you may need to have bolder lines or softer lines to have contrast. You have to be sure of the details you want in there so you have a good contrast of the animal and its background .
3. When you look at your sketches are you able to see which sketch is the strongest and will make the best print? How do you know this?
It depends on the contrast you have of the background and the animal. I think my polar bear is the strongest and will be the best print out of my octopuss and my panda bear. I think this because the panda bear is basic texture and the background is very detailed because of the plants and  bamboo and the actopuss has a more interesting texture pecause if the  patern it has on its head and the sucktion cup on its legs. the polar bear shows the water  and rocks in it , the wriples from the water hitting the rock and the glacers are far back and they are layered. this one is the best in my eyes

1. Explain your experience working on a team and executing your ideas for the mural.
We  worked well together and I was happy with the team members I had. I feel  it was good to have the  others in the team expressing ideas and then adding them all together. I feel it was good to have others in my group provide imput in areas that i was weak and having them show me new ways to think of things.
2. Explain the importance of collaboration when working on a team.
Collaberation allows many ideas to come together as one, and in this project I believe we did this.
For example, in the thumb nails we all had many great ideas and we had to pick two of the most creative out of ten. If we did not talk and add other things to this project i feel it would have made a huge impact on creativity.
3.  How successful was this project? Explain how and why.
I feel  we were successful as a group, we all had a big part in this project and i am pretty sure we all had fun. IF we did'nt have as big of a imagination this would'nt have turned out so good.
we completed the project on time with imput from all the members and i feel we meet all the criteria of the project.
4. Explain how you feel about creating artwork that others can interact with. Ex. Invoving the whole school?
I feel good that the whole school got to see our art and interact with it. Seeing friends taking pictues while they interact with this brought a smile to my face. I hope others can appreciate the art class and maybe will be interested in art next year.
Value Portraits Art Critique

1. Explain the process you went through to develop your drawing.
We all had to find the "value shapes" in the face. We had to use the 9 different values in our drawing but the hard part for me was fading out into the other shades. We had to show where the higher parts of the face like the nose , cheeks ,and chin.

2. Explain how you found the different values in the portrait?
Well, the pictures we based our drawlings on were in black and white . This made the different values easier to find compared to a colored picture. Sometimes we had to add a little more values to some places if we felt like it needed it.

3.  Did you achieve a full range of the different values within your portrait?  How?
I feel like I did acheive a full range of the different values in my portrait. I had to use different types of penciles for this portrait, like some of the penciles I used had verry soft lead compared to the others which had harder leads. Pressure was a big part of this  you had to put the right amount of pressure to darker areas and go lighter toward the outer parts of the "shape".

4. Describe your craftsmanship.  Is the artwork executed and crafted neatly?
I feel like I had to really try  to do my hardest in this portrait, it was a new experience for me. I feel I crafted this neatly  but i do have room for improvement .I feel I executed this in a good manner.

5. List any obstacles you had to overcome and how you dealt with them.
I had to overcome some of my instincts to add some of my own touches to it. Another thing i had to over come was the bold lines in the project we all had to do lite lines ,no dark lines.i feel i learned from this prject and i fell i had a fun time learning new skills , but i still have room for improvement in my work.
